Our greenhouse is family-owned and operated and began as a truck farm in 1886. Our family began building greenhouses in 1937 and tomatoes became the cash crop. By 1962, we had 3 acres of tomatoes growing under glass.
As the cost of natural gas rose in the 1970s, we switched mostly to bibb and leaf lettuce, crops that could tolerate colder temperatures.
In 1977, the greenhouse began to grow and annuals on a small scale. Each year after, additional space was given over to raising and selling annuals. By 1991, lettuce was completely phased out adn tomatoes dropped from 11,000 plants to 1,100.
Of 61,000 square feet of greenhouse space today, 43,000 square feet is dedicated to annuals and perennials.
From our humble beginnings as a truck farm, we have grown into one of the largest garden centers in the Cincinnati area, with both retail and wholesale operations.
We are truly a family business. Terry Moeller is joined at work everyday by his wife Susan, daughter Erin, daughter-in-law Jamie, and 4 grandchildren.

Are you interested in learning about something garden related? We are always trying to think of new seminar ideas. In the past we've had tomato and vegetable, perennial, new annuals, roses, herb and container. If you've got an idea, let us know at erin@moellergreenhouse.com
